Experience matters—especially when it comes to ultrasound.
Nussbaumer Health was founded by Kae Nussbaumer, DDg, BS, RDMS, RVT, a diagnostic medical sonographer, vascular technologist and the first diagnostologist, with more than 30 years of experience in diagnostic ultrasound, vascular imaging, research, education and healthcare leadership.
Kae's career has included leadership at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she managed General and Vascular Ultrasound and participated in ultrasound and vascular research, including NASA ultrasound protocol development.
She later developed and taught advanced physician ultrasound education at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where the methodology she taught was recognized as “The Nussbaumer Method – The New Physical Exam with Ultrasound.”
Her work as an ultrasound educator and founder began decades ago. In 1999, Kae founded the Gulf Coast Institute of Vascular Ultrasound, the first specialized ultrasound school in the United States, now the Cardiovascular Institute. In 2007, she founded the Center for Ultrasound Research & Education (CURE), followed by ADOM Academy in 2022.
Kae's primary areas of specialization are vascular ultrasound, endocrinology and oncology, with extensive clinical expertise in abdominal and small-parts ultrasound as well as advanced vascular imaging, including carotid, arterial, venous, renal, mesenteric, aortic, fistula and graft evaluation.
